Job Summary

We are seeking a resourceful, detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter II. You will make an immediate, lasting impact, and see your work in projects including stadium mechanization, aerospace support systems, high-capacity custom cranes, and custom rides for leading international theme parks. You will work collaboratively with a team of engineers, designers, and drafters, and contribute a broad range of individual components, assemblies, and full system designs.   • Create part drawings and detail for fabrication including applicable tolerances and notes.
  • Create assembly drawings and build the bill of materials.
  • Work effectively from sketched details received from a Designer or Engineer and drawing markups.
  • Create part and assembly models in 3-D using SolidWorks design software.
  • Review drawings for accuracy and tolerance.
  • Implement revisions to print drawings.
  • Periodic shop assembly.
  • 5% travel
  • In-person at Plymouth, MN office

Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder).
  • Minimum two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related Computer Aided Drafting Training
  • 2-4 years of experience – compensation will be commensurate with experience.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software. SolidWorks experience preferred and AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • SolidWorks certification a plus (CSWE, CSWP, CSWA, CSWPA-DT, -WD, -SM are all relevant).
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques and machine shop experience beneficial.
  • GD&T experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology beneficial. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of company’s projects.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, fabrication processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of machinery.
  • Must be able to work efficiently on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated technical abilities within 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented; proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
